Learn to Skate

Carlton Youth Hockey’s Learn to Skate program is the perfect place to glide, giggle, and grow! Whether you’re taking your very first steps on the ice or building confidence to join a team someday, skaters of all ages are welcome. Our friendly coaches make learning fun and safe — so come lace up, make new friends, and discover the joy of skating with the Bulldogs!

1. Who can join the Learn to Skate program?

Our program is open to all ages! Whether you’re a tiny tot taking your first steps or an adult wanting to learn to glide, everyone is welcome.

2. Do I need any skating experience?

Nope! This program is designed for beginners. Our friendly coaches will help you get comfortable on the ice, step by step.

3. What equipment do I need?

All skaters must wear skates, a helmet (a bike helmet works great for beginners), and warm clothes with gloves or mittens. Hockey gear is not required for Learn to Skate.

4. When and where are the sessions held?

Sessions are held at the Four Seasons Sports Complex in Carlton, MN. Dates and times will be shared before the season starts.

5. How long is each session?

Each Learn to Skate session typically runs 30-45 minutes, giving skaters plenty of time to practice and have fun!

6. Can parents watch?

Absolutely! We encourage family and friends to come cheer on our skaters. Bring your camera for those proud first-glide moments!

7. Who are the coaches?

Our coaches are experienced skaters and hockey players who love teaching the basics and making skating fun and safe for everyone.

8. How do I stay updated?
